Three quick reviews:
1. I saw Rize last night (finally). It’s kind of a mess, it has about six different endings and leans pretty hard on some pretty shots of dancing, but all-in-all it’s a great film. I read in Film Comment that La Chappelle set out to treat his krump-dancing subjects like the stars they know they are, and he succeeds at every turn. See the movie and watch people be awesome at something you probably didn’t know people did.

For the last few weeks, I have been engaged in a battle with Nextel and Equifax that is lifted straight from the pages of the script for “Punch Drunk Love.”
It went like this:
Nextel has a promotion with Continental Airlines going until June 30th which offers new subscribers 7,000 miles to switch to their service. This is my dorm-sized fridge. The block of ice over the empty jug of OJ and the Vanana (vanilla/banana) yogurt is what used to be my freezer. It started frosting over when I moved in, muscling out my frozen taquitos and eventually requiring a working over with a fork to force it to accommodate a pint of ice cream.
