Hard Traveling

(I took this picture)I’m leaving on a plane to Texas in five hours. Then, off to San Francisco for a few days for my first real trip to the city. I impulse purchased a copy of Faulkner’s “The Reivers” for the plane. Not sure I’ll be awake enough to read it, but I’ve been reading too much geek shit lately, between information architecture and project management books and (on the other, limper hand) comics.Looking forward to Shiner and barbeque.

I wasn’t sure if the right thing to do was let it die naturally or step on its head. The decision was complicated by the people eating dinner at Swingers’ outside tables. Photographing a (what I initially thought was dead) rat is creepy enough. Photographing it, then killing it would make me a snuff Marty Stouffer. I let it die naturally.
Were the same rat in my apartment and healthy, I would not hesitate to kill it.

For the last few weeks, I have been engaged in a battle with Nextel and Equifax that is lifted straight from the pages of the script for “Punch Drunk Love.”

Summer Thaw / Summer Movies

This is my dorm-sized fridge. The block of ice over the empty jug of OJ and the Vanana (vanilla/banana) yogurt is what used to be my freezer. It started frosting over when I moved in, muscling out my frozen taquitos and eventually requiring a working over with a fork to force it to accommodate a pint of ice cream.
