My Music Video for Snowglobe: Teenage Queen

I love Snowglobe. They make smart, sad, funny, catchy music and they’re great guys to boot. Making a music video for a band that I’m really into was one of the things that made making movies seem like a good idea when I first started trying to make movies.

Proud to Support the Ribbon Industry

Google tells me I’m not the first to think of this joke, but the Golden Globes reminded me.

$5 Cover Seattle Trailer

We’ve been working on the release of $5 Cover Seattle – it’s going to be great. It’s directed by Lynn Shelton, whose Humpdaywas the talk of Sundance 2009 (and is funny and subtle and a great film to watch in a crowd). The bands are awesome. A lot of talented filmmakers contributed. They’re doing a preview of selected scenes at Sundance 2010 and it has the same release date as Savage County, which is to say – I have no idea when it comes out.

I hate advice quotations. Here is an advice quotation.

Quotes within quotes. It starts with this from Jarmusch and continues… “Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic.”

2010 New Year’s Resolution: An Indie Film a Month – January

So, my 2010 resolution is to see one indie film in the theater per month and contribute to an artform I actually like a lot with more than places in my 500-movie-plus Netflix cue. This means: handing over cash and telling people about the movies I watch and like. First up: FISH TANK by Andrea Arnold.
