I hate advice quotations. Here is an advice quotation.

Quotes within quotes. It starts with this from Jarmusch and continues… “Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic.”

On the Road to Savage County

I’m writing this from a Motel 6 in Grant, New Mexico, on the road to Memphis Tennessee to begin production on Savage County, my first “real” project as a director. My New Pilot: “Savage County”

For the last two years, I’ve been plugging away at a horror web series with many different names. I can’t say much about it yet, but it finally has a name that’s sticking: “Savage County” and we’ve shot the pilot for MTV. What else? It will be set in Texas. It will be scary. If it goes to series, there will be redvines on the craft service table.

Stay tuned for more news that will undoubtedly SCARE THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF YOU.

shine a light

From guest writer: Ho Keen Fi
we all know darn well the countless amount of films made on the stones about the stones. they may well be the most documented band in rock history but Scorsese captured something that’s close at heart …the music. we all darn well know about the drugs and sex. but to capture the full force gale of a stones concert Scorsese did a great job.
PLUS being a master Cineaste manipulator.
what we see is a bunch of old guys who has been around for almost fifty years …

actress with a machine gun – from Justin Wolske’s “Unending Hell”

Justin Wolske’s “Unending Hell” produced this, my favorite still from any movie I’ve ever worked on, of Lora Kojovic, an up-and-coming Bosnian actress who is nineteen feet tall, speaks four languages and is gleeful when firing a machine gun.
